NOVERA SPIDER
NOVERA SPIDER
High-performance fiberglass reinforcement layer for structural stabilisation
Provides mechanical reinforcement, crack bridging and long-term cohesion of the NOVERA system.
- distributes stress within the structure
- bridges cracks and prevents their propagation
- stabilises damaged and multi-layered substrates
- increases mechanical resistance of the system
- essential reinforcement for demanding applications
NOVERA Spider is like an architect’s fine mesh—knowing where a structure bends, where it works, and where it needs support.
It is not a surface and it is not a coating—it is reinforcement that connects the past with the future.
It is flexible when the building material moves.
It is strong when old masonry cracks.
It is stable when other layers need certainty.
Within the NOVERA system, it creates an invisible framework that holds everything in place—from elastic waterproofing to the final microspherical membrane.
It is the spider’s thread of the technical world—lightweight, precise, and incredibly strong.
BENEFITS
Highly elastic fiberglass fabric with long-term mechanical stability
Mesh structure for extreme tensile strength and resistance to deformation
Eliminates the formation and spread of cracks in structures
Strengthens damaged, cracked, or non-homogeneous surfaces
Resistant to alkaline environments, UV radiation, and temperature fluctuations
Suitable for both interior and exterior use, including wet zones
Ensures maximum substrate cohesion for thermo-reflective layers
Extends the lifespan of roofs and façades by decades
TECHNOLOGY
WHAT IS NOVERA SPIDER
NOVERA Spider is a specialized fiberglass fabric:
- rolls: 50 m × 1 m
- mesh structure for uniform stress distribution
- high elasticity and tensile strength
- high chemical stability in alkaline environments (concrete, mortars, cement)
- compatible with NOVERA polymer membranes
NOVERA Spider is a specialized fiberglass fabric designed to:
- dissipate stress in critical zones
- prevent the transfer of cracks into final layers
- stabilize structures exposed to thermal cycling from −35 °C to +85 °C
- create a reinforced mechanical backbone beneath waterproofing and thermo-reflective layers
The fabric is a key component of the Cold Roof / Cool Roof system,
where it stabilizes old substrates prior to the application of NOVERA Reflex.
BASIC APPLICATIONS
On damaged or unstable surfaces
- cracks
- microcracks
- uneven surfaces
- different materials adjoining each other
- weakened zones, leaks, old roofing layers
During renovation of older buildings
Where consolidation of old layers is required and the creation of a solid structural skeleton for surface membranes.
Within the NOVERA Reflex system (Cold Roof)
- stabilization prior to the application of microspherical technology
- ensuring perfect substrate cohesion
Under NOVERA HydroRepair
For heavily damaged or cracked surfaces prior to the application of elastic waterproofing.
On roofs, terraces, balconies, and concrete surfaces
Ideal for structures exposed to:
- thermal shock (−35 °C to +85 °C)
- vibrations (industrial halls, highways, ventilation systems)
- water load (standing water, wind pressure)
APPLICATION
Surface preparation
- surface must be dry, load-bearing, and clean
- remove dust, grease, and biological film (recommended: NOVERA Cleaner)
- recommended penetration with NOVERA PNT to improve adhesion
- repair large cracks with NOVERA HydroRepair
Application
- unroll and cut into required strips
- place directly into the fresh HydroRepair layer
- press in using a trowel / stainless steel tool
- smooth to remove trapped air
- overlaps between strips: 5–10 cm
Covering with subsequent layer
The fabric must be fully embedded:
- it must not remain visible
Top layer according to the system:
- NOVERA HydroRepair
- NOVERA Reflex
- NOVERA Exterior (for façades)
Temperature conditions
- application temperature: +5 °C to +40 °C
- do not apply if there is a risk of rain or condensation
Quality control
- Check absorbency uniformity (e.g. using a simple paper absorbency test).
- Perform an adhesion test using a pilot tape test on a selected area before full application.
